DECEMBER EVENT – ‘Bodhi Day, a Buddhist Christmas?’
Each December, on Bodhi Day, Mahayana Buddhists in East Asia celebrate the Buddha’s triumph over Mara: his ‘awakening’ or enlightenment. Traditionally, strings of light are put up & a sustaining dish of rice-milk is eaten. Join Vijayanandi to explore this symbolism of light and enjoy a taste of vegan rice-pudding.
An opportunity to meet and practice with other women in the Sangha. The morning will include meditation, discussion, Dharma and ritual. Open to all women and those who identify as female or non-binary, who have completed an introductory course.
Every third Saturday of the month.
Session from 10:30am – 1pm, with the option to stay for lunch afterwards, but bring your own food.
