The Taste of Freedom
‘Just as the mighty ocean has but one taste, the taste of salt, so too has my teaching but one taste; the taste of freedom.’ – The Buddha
More about this theme:
It can be so hard to know what Buddhism is, what it’s about, where it came from, how to apply it to our lives. Here we have the Buddha giving a radically simple definition of what he thinks it is. Join Dharmashalin for an exploration and evocation of the power and potential of the Dharma. The course will be drawing on a classic teaching from Sangharakshita.
Who is this course for?
Once you have learnt the basics on our Introductory Courses you can continue exploring Buddhism and Meditation in Going Deeper. You don’t need to think of yourself as a Buddhist, just someone who’s interested. This may be your first dive in, you may have prior experience of Buddhism/Meditation, or you may have been coming to the centre for months or years and something in this theme speaks to you.
About Going Deeper:
Each series, on a particular theme, is designed to support you in deepening your understanding and practice of Buddhist ideas and meditation. Going Deeper can help you apply Buddhist teachings in your life, developing greater mindfulness, positive emotion and wisdom. With greater awareness and kindness we can transform ourselves and the way we relate to other people and the world, making our lives more honest, meaningful and enjoyable.
All our classes and events are run by donation, there is no fixed fee. Please watch this video to understand more deeply what that means.
