Room Hire

The Birmingham Buddhist Centre has a number of rooms that can be hired by groups at the discretion of the charity. There are three rooms for hire: Yoga Studio, Jasmine Room and the Library.. Each is centrally heated. For more detailed information on the terms for room hire please contact the centre and ask to see the 'Room Booking Details, Conditions & Useful Information' document.

Yoga Studio

Fully equipped and with a sprung floor the Yoga Studio is quiet and spacious with a calm feel. The dimensions are 10.6m long x 8.2m wide x 3.5m high. It can hold about 30 people for yoga and pilates-type classes, about 60 – 70 for seated events. The Yoga Studio is accessible by wheelchair.
Weekend & Evening Rate: £23 per hour, or £140 per day (morning + afternoon).
Monday - Friday Daytime Rate: £18 per hour

Jasmine Room

Adjacent to the Yoga Studio, the Jasmine Room has the same sprung hardwood floor. It is similarly quiet, with warm colours and more natural light. The dimensions are 10m long x 4.7m wide x 2.7m high. It can hold about 18 people for yoga and other bodywork classes, about 35 people for seated events. The Jasmine Room is accessible by wheelchair.
Weekend & Evening Rate: £20 per hour, or £120 per day (morning + afternoon).
Monday - Friday Daytime Rate: £15 per hour

Garden Meeting Room

This peaceful room at the rear of the building, which is ideal for meetings, overlooks the garden and has a fully-equipped kitchen. The dimensions are 5.5m long x 3.65m wide. It can accomodate approximately 10 people. The Garden Meeting Room is accessible by wheelchair.
The hire rate is £12 per hour or £80 per day.

Library

Situated closer to the front of the building on the first floor, the Library is pleasingly painted using soft colours. It is furnished with a small desk and stackable chairs. It also has a small shrine in one corner as it is sometimes used for meditation classes. The Library can hold about 12 people for meetings, workshops or interviews. The dimensions are 8m long x 3.2m wide x 2.95m high. The Library is not accessible by wheelchair.
The hire rate is £10 per hour or £60 per day.

Lotus Room

The Lotus Room is ideal for small meetings, counselling or 1 to 1 sessions. It is situated on the ground floor towards the back of the building. The dimensions are 4.7m long x 1.9m wide. The Lotus Room is accessible by wheelchair.
The hire rate is £8 per hour for a one-off session, £7 per hour for more than one session, £6 per hour for more than 8 sessions, and £5.50 for a booking of 20 or more sessions.

With the hire of each room comes access to the Cafe Area and use of the kitchen for food and drink preparation, although we do not have the facilities to sell any food prepared there. It may be that different groups are hiring rooms at the centre simultaneously, in which case we may contact you about coordinating lunchtimes so that everyone can eat and drink under the best conditions possible.
PLEASE NOTE the Cafe Area will be affected by building refurbishment works between January and April 2012. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Buddhist Centre also has a garden, and clement weather permitting this is available to use during break and lunchtimes.

It may also be possible to use equipment that the centre has, including flipcharts and lecterns etc. Please ask about this when you book.
