Transforming Self, Transforming World

A day of talks and workshops on being the change you wish to see in the world.  From positive attitudes to practical actions, this day will explore how to create sustainable minds and a healthy planet.
As part of the Moseley Festival the Buddhist Centre is collaborating with local environmental-interest groups to offer a range of practical tools to help and inspire us to live a more creative and integrated life in harmony with nature rather than against it. There will also be workshops that link how a spiritual, and particularly Buddhist perspective can bring about a shift in attitude so that this becomes less an act characterised by fear and apathy but one that is liberating and brings us more in line with reality. Details of the event will be forthcoming, and we hope to have films, lunch provided by 'Food not Bombs', activities for children, including Rob's Birmingham-famous 'Smoothie Bike', the Work that Reconnects (inspired by Buddhist activist Joanna Macy), introductions to meditation, urban permaculture, and other practical ways in which to help realise your 'true self' and its place in harmony with the world it inhabits.
